Mere hours before the opening of the Tokyo Game Show, Tecmo took the wraps off Quantum Theory, a brand-new third-person shooter for the PlayStation 3. The title, due out sometime next year in Japan, will be on the TGS floor in movie form at the very least; Keisuke Kikuchi (one of the main men behind the Fatal Frame series) is handling producer duties. Quantum Theory is set inside the Tower of Light, a mysterious, organic structure that has built itself up over time and is in a constant state of mutation. You play Sid, a huge man with an even huger gun who's intent on climbing the tower and destroying it. Along the way you'll encounter Firene, a female warrior who's also climbing the tower but has very different intentions in mind. You'll work together in some way, although Tecmo's still keeping details on the game pretty classified. 1UP is in Japan all week giving you the best coverage of one of the biggest gaming conventions in the world -- the Tokyo Game Show. Be sure to check out our TGS hub page for all the latest news, previews, videos, and everything else from across the ocean. |
